This article reports on some of the findings of a qualitative study entitled An Institutional Ethnography of Elder Care: Understanding Access From the Standpoint of Ethnic and "Racial" Minority Women , which sought to uncover how older ethnic women access home care services in Canada .

According to the introduction, "This article seeks to outline how being a Lesbian, or Bisexual elder may impact on that elder's need for -- and willingness to accept assistance from -- adult protective services. WHO/INPEA. (2002). Missing Voices: Views of Older Persons on Elder Abuse . Geneva : World Health Organization. The WHO conducted a study of elder abuse in eight countries - Argentina , Austria , Brazil , Canada , India , Kenya , Lebanon and Sweden . This 32-page publication details the design and findings of that study, and the conclusions of a meeting that took place in Geneva in October 2001. The purpose of this meeting was to identify the indications for policy, research and action emerging from the study findings. Information and statistics relevant to women can be found throughout this document.
